The “(S)Compositions” project conceived by D'Orta starts from architectural photography to tell in the form of metaphor, through installations/sculptures obtained from photographs, two stories: our ability to transform the environment and the society in which we live and the continuous evolution of the personality of each of us, through decompositions and recompositions of our emotions, ideas and life experiences.
The journey begins by photographing landscapes of contemporary architecture, that is, the skin of our cities. By exploiting particular shooting perspectives and compressing the depth of field through the zoom, D'Orta transforms glimpses of contemporary architecture into pure abstract geometries, in which the recognizability of the subject, depth and three-dimensionality of the original place often disappear completely.
But then, using the same geometric parts that make up the photography, plexiglass installations, glass sculptures or painted steel sculptures are created, the latter with the collaboration of the hyperrealist painter Andrea Ciresola, in which it is recovered, but reinterpreted and profoundly changed. the combination of the parts, the three-dimensionality of the original architectural place.
